We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Locum Specialist Registrar (SpR) in Anaesthetics to join our surgical team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialties, working closely with surgeons, operating department practitioners, and nursing staff. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the flexibility of locum work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide anaesthetic care for elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments, including patient evaluations and risk assessments.
• Administer anaesthesia during surgery and monitor patients’ vital signs throughout procedures.
• Manage post-operative care, including pain management and recovery assessments.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Participate in the on-call rota, providing anaesthetic cover for emergency cases.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, including SHOs and Anaesthetic trainees.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental teaching sessions.

Essential Requirements:

• Full GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
• Previous experience working as a Specialist Registrar in Anaesthetics.
• Proven expertise in providing anaesthetic care for a variety of surgical specialties.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
