Description
As a Locum Band 6 Podiatrist, you will assess, diagnose, and provide evidence-based treatments for a range of podiatric conditions. Working across diverse clinical settings, you will play a vital role in promoting mobility, managing foot-related complications, and improving the quality of life for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive podiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for patients with a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal, diabetic, and vascular foot care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans, including routine podiatry, wound management, nail surgery, and biomechanics.
- Provide advice and education to patients and carers on foot health, prevention, and management of podiatric conditions.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic and patient-centered care.
- Conduct assessments and treatments in clinics, community settings, and patients' homes.
- Monitor and document patient progress, ensuring records are maintained in line with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Podiatry.
- HCPC registration as a Podiatrist.
- Previous experience as a Band 5 or Band 6 Podiatrist, working with a variety of podiatric conditions.
- Competence in routine podiatry, wound care, and nail surgery.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current best practices and national clinical guidelines.
