Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Locum Band 8a Pharmacist to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled pharmacist to work at a senior level, contributing to the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care and leadership in a dynamic healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing clinical pharmacy services, ensuring safe and effective use of medicines, and supporting the wider healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert clinical pharmacy services to patients, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines.
Undertake medication reviews and provide evidence-based advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
Support the development and implementation of medicine management policies and protocols.
Supervise, mentor, and support junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other staff members.
Conduct audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives in pharmaceutical care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice in specific clinical areas such as oncology, critical care, or antimicrobial stewardship (as applicable).
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies regarding medication safety and governance.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in line with professional and organizational standards.

Essential Requirements

Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent).
Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Extensive experience working at Band 7 or above in clinical pharmacy.
Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in medication safety and management.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Up-to-date mandatory training, including safeguarding and Basic Life Support (BLS).
