Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Locum Consultant Dermatologist to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert dermatological care while contributing to the smooth operation of our dermatology services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing and managing a wide range of dermatological conditions, performing advanced procedures, and supporting patients in achieving optimal skin health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a variety of dermatological conditions, including complex and chronic skin disorders.
  • Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy with precision and care.
  • Provide expert advice and treatment for conditions like acne, psoriasis, eczema, and skin cancers.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and effective patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and nurses within the dermatology department.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring strict confidentiality.

Essential Requirements

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Dermatology.
  • CCT in Dermatology or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in managing a range of dermatological conditions and performing specialist procedures.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training, including safeguarding and Basic Life Support (BLS).
