Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Stroke Consultant to join a dedicated team providing specialist stroke care. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant looking for a flexible locum role while making a significant impact in Stroke Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Lead and manage the acute stroke unit, including stroke thrombolysis and thrombectomy services
✔ Provide expert care for patients in the hyper-acute, acute, and rehabilitation phases of stroke care
✔ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to optimize stroke treatment and recovery
✔ Participate in stroke prevention clinics, offering secondary prevention strategies
✔ Supervise and support junior doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals
✔ Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and stroke research initiatives

Requirements:

🔹 GMC Registration with a license to practice
🔹 CCT in Stroke Medicine, Neurology, or Geriatrics (or equivalent specialist qualification)
🔹 Extensive experience in stroke management, thrombolysis, and rehabilitation
🔹 Strong leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills
🔹 Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced NHS or private healthcare environment
