Description

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Locum Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our Gynaecology Outpatient team. This position is ideal for an experienced HCA who is passionate about providing high-quality care in women’s health. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic, ensuring the smooth flow of patients and maintaining high standards of care.
  • Support clinicians during examinations, minor procedures, and other clinical interventions.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and the availability of necessary equipment.
  • Take and record basic clinical observations, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients attending the clinic.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including updating patient records and booking follow-up appointments.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and health and safety regulations at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a clinical setting (experience in women’s health or gynaecology is highly desirable).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Knowledge of infection control, hygiene standards, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy environment.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training (e.g., Basic Life Support, Moving and Handling).
