Description
As a Locum Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions for patients with complex physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help patients regain independence, improve their quality of life, and achieve optimal functional outcomes.
Job Purpose:-
- We aim to enhance health and well-being by facilitating participation in meaningful activity within community and inpatient settings.
- This post is vital to facilitate as far as possible each client’s return to maximum function and independence through a range of therapeutic interventions.
- This intervention has a significant impact on the wider economy in; reducing length of stay in hospital, reducing admissions and re-admissions, reducing residential placements through both social care and continuing health care, reducing domiciliary care packages as well as improving health outcomes.
- This post requires a Specialist Occupational Therapist to provide Clinical specialist skills in Occupational Therapy interventions related to this clinical area.
- The post holder will manage a clinical caseload as specialist clinician to support Occupational Therapy service delivery in this area of clinical speciality.
- Manage a defined caseload using evidence-based, patient-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Provide and develop an Occupational Therapy service for a specific area and contribute to related policy development.
- Lead and support junior staff through supervision and appraisal within a designated area/team, as delegated by the team lead.
- Contribute to the growth of the Occupational Therapy Service by conducting clinical audits, implementing service improvements, and participating in research.
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge, skill, and expertise in assessing functional ability, as well as understanding the psychological and emotional impacts of medical conditions on patients, carers, families, and professionals.
- Cascade relevant knowledge through education and training within the Occupational Therapy service.
