Description

As a Locum RMN/MHP, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating mental health care for patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a holistic and person-centered approach to mental health treatment and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and implement care plans for individuals with a range of mental health needs.
  • Provide direct mental health support and interventions in inpatient, community, or crisis settings.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective and compassionate care.
  • Administer medications and monitor their effects, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines.
  • Respond to mental health crises with sensitivity and professionalism, using de-escalation techniques when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
  • Promote a recovery-focused approach, empowering patients to achieve their goals and maintain their mental well-being.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding protocols.

Essential Requirements

  • NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent qualification for MHP roles.
  • Previous experience working within mental health services, such as inpatient units, crisis teams, or community settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act and safeguarding protocols.
  • Flexibility to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely clinical records.
