Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Locum Band 7 Chief Cardiac Physiologist. This position is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in cardiac physiology who is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the cardiac physiology team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional clinical services.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including echocardiography, ECG analysis, stress testing, and pacemaker/ICD programming.
  • Interpret complex diagnostic data and provide comprehensive reports to support clinical decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing specialist advice and contributing to case discussions.
  • Oversee the training and development of junior cardiac physiologists and other healthcare staff.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement projects to enhance cardiac services.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection standards are met.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac physiology through continuous professional development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in cardiac physiology, including advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in conducting clinical audits and contributing to research projects.
