Description
As a Band 8a Locum Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will provide specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and consultation within a multidisciplinary team. You will work with clients presenting with complex mental health needs, supporting them to achieve their goals and enhance their well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, using a range of methods to understand clients' needs and challenges.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to individual clients and groups.
- Provide specialist consultation and advice to multidisciplinary teams to support psychological aspects of care.
- Offer supervision and guidance to junior staff and trainees where required.
- Contribute to service development, audits, and research to ensure high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
Essential Requirements
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent), recognized by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Significant post-qualification experience working in mental health settings.
- Proven ability to provide evidence-based psychological therapies, such as CBT, ACT, or other relevant approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
