Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Band 8a Women’s and Paediatric Clinical Pharmacist. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive expertise in women’s health and paediatric pharmacotherapy who is committed to providing high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to women’s health and paediatric departments, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and provide evidence-based recommendations to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in ward rounds, offering specialist pharmaceutical advice and supporting the management of complex cases.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families on medication management, including potential side effects and adherence strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Monitor and manage the use of high-risk medications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Support the training and development of junior pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement projects to enhance pharmacy services.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in women’s health and paediatric pharmacotherapy through continuous professional development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in women’s health and paediatric pharmacy within a hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical skills in medication management and therapeutic drug monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in conducting clinical audits and contributing to research projects.
