Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Locum Occupational Therapist specializing in Children's Services. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who is committed to enhancing the lives of children through comprehensive occupational therapy services. The successful candidate will work closely with children, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to support developmental and functional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children with a range of developmental and functional difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide direct therapy interventions, including sensory integration, fine motor skills development, and activities of daily living (ADLs) training.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational planning meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with NHS guidelines.
  • Deliver training and support to families and school staff to facilitate the child’s progress in different environments.
  • Conduct home and school visits as necessary to support the child's therapy plan.
  • Engage in clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior occupational therapists and therapy assistants.

Essential Criteria:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Extensive experience in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Strong clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of children with developmental and functional difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Experience in working within an NHS or similar healthcare setting.
