Description

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Locum Occupational Therapist. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential occupational therapy services to individuals in a range of settings, helping them improve their quality of life and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients to develop personalized care plans
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, helping individuals achieve their rehabilitation goals
  • Work with patients to develop functional skills for daily living, including personal care, mobility, and leisure activities
  • Provide advice and training on the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to promote independence
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, nurses, social workers, and doctors, to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Document patient progress, updating care plans and maintaining accurate and timely records in line with departmental protocols
  • Conduct home visits where necessary, ensuring a safe and effective environment for patients to continue rehabilitation
  • Offer education and support to patients, families, and caregivers to enable them to better manage daily challenges
  • Participate in service development, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and promoting best practices within the occupational therapy service
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff or students as required

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution
  • HCPC registration
  • Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally in a clinical or community setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A patient-centered approach with a commitment to providing high-quality care
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle (if home visits are required)
