Description

We are seeking a Locum Podiatry Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to support a dedicated podiatry team and gain valuable experience in the field, helping to improve the mobility and well-being of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist qualified podiatrists in providing care to patients, including preparing treatment areas and supporting podiatric procedures
  • Provide foot care to patients, including nail care, skin care, and basic wound management under the supervision of a podiatrist
  • Carry out assessments of patients’ needs and report any concerns to the podiatrist
  • Educate patients on foot health and hygiene, promoting self-care practices and preventative foot care
  • Maintain and manage stock of clinical supplies, ensuring equipment is clean, organized, and well-maintained
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and handling patient inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and health and safety regulations within the clinic
  • Provide support to the podiatry team during domiciliary visits, clinics, and community settings as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally within a podiatry or foot care service
  • Knowledge of basic foot care techniques and patient care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle a busy workload
  • A compassionate and patient-focused approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality care
  • Basic IT skills to assist with record keeping and administrative tasks
