Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Principal Clinical Psychologist. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior psychologist to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and expertise in delivering psychological assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert psychological assessments and formulations for complex cases, utilizing a range of psychological models and therapeutic approaches
  • Lead the development and delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions for individuals, groups, and families
  • Offer clinical leadership and supervision to junior psychologists, trainees, and other allied health professionals
  • Ensure the highest standards of psychological care are delivered, maintaining professional guidelines and clinical governance frameworks
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to care planning and service development
  • Oversee the evaluation of therapeutic outcomes, implementing service improvements based on clinical audits and patient feedback
  • Provide training and workshops for staff to enhance psychological understanding and therapeutic skills within the team
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to psychological services
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and prepare detailed reports for referring clinicians
  • Support the organization in achieving key service targets, including waiting times and clinical outcomes

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the BPS
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Significant post-qualification experience in clinical psychology, with expertise in managing complex mental health presentations
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising junior psychologists and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines
