Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team on a temporary basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, providing essential mental health care and support to individuals in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with mental health conditions, ensuring safe and effective interventions in line with best practices
  • Administer medication and monitor patient progress, ensuring treatment plans are followed and adjusted as needed
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to provide holistic care
  • Respond to mental health crises, offering support and guidance to patients and their families
  • Ensure the accurate documentation of patient records, maintaining compliance with clinical governance, legal, and professional standards
  • Promote patient-centered care and recovery-focused approaches, encouraging self-management and participation in treatment decisions
  • Participate in clinical meetings, handovers, and service reviews, contributing to service improvements and care quality
  • Support junior nursing staff and students, providing mentorship, supervision, and guidance as required

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration
  • Significant post-qualification experience in mental health nursing
  • Proven ability to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and develop care plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritizing tasks and responding effectively to mental health crises
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach, with a commitment to promoting recovery and well-being
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation, safeguarding practices, and relevant clinical guidelines
