Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Social Worker to join our team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' social, emotional, and practical needs, developing personalized care plans
  • Provide support, advice, and guidance to individuals and families facing a range of challenges, including safeguarding issues, mental health concerns, and substance misuse
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, social care providers, and community agencies, to deliver coordinated care
  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions while adhering to statutory guidelines and organizational policies
  • Undertake risk assessments and implement safeguarding measures to protect vulnerable adults and children
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the necessary resources, services, and support to meet their needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and documentation in line with legal and organizational requirements
  • Participate in case reviews, meetings, and professional development opportunities, contributing to service improvements and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding regulations

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England (or relevant governing body)
  • Previous experience working as a Social Worker, ideally within an adult or children’s social care setting
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding practices, and social care policies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with clients, families, and professionals
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in challenging situations
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in social work practice
