Description

As a Locum Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services to children and young people with a variety of communication needs. Your role will involve working in a range of settings, including schools, clinics, and community environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed assessments of speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
  • Provide direct therapy and intervention, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, school staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy.
  • Travel to different settings within the North West of England to deliver therapy services.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in speech and language therapy.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy with HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with children and young people with diverse communication needs.
  • Strong knowledge of the EHCP/SEND process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the North West of England.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
