Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team on a locum basis within the Orthopaedics department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, fractures, and post-operative conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic therapist to further their clinical expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients within the orthopaedics unit, identifying their functional needs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans aimed at promoting patient independence and mobility.
Provide expert advice on adaptive equipment, splinting, and home modifications to facilitate recovery.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, physiotherapists, and nursing staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
Offer guidance and education to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation goals and techniques.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards and departmental policies.
Supervise and support junior staff and students as needed.

Essential Requirements

A recognized degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Proven experience working at a Band 6 level within Orthopaedics or a related field.
Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
