Description

As a Locum Consultant in Gastroenterology, you will lead the clinical management of patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering advanced diagnostics, innovative treatments, and expert care to improve patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and treat a diverse caseload of patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including [insert relevant procedures, e.g., colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy].
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Participate in and lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, ensuring seamless communication across specialties.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and training to junior medical staff.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records in line with organizational and regulatory standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice and inclusion on the Specialist Register in Gastroenterology.
  • Proven experience as a Consultant in Gastroenterology.
  • Proficiency in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-working skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.
