Description
As a Locum Consultant in Oncology, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating cancer patients, ensuring the highest standards of care. You will work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized treatment plans, offering both medical expertise and compassionate support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical management of oncology patients in outpatient, inpatient, and day-care settings.
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and targeted therapies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiologists, and palliative care specialists, to ensure holistic care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, fostering professional development.
- Contribute to clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in line with organizational and regulatory standards.
Essential Requirements
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register in Medical or Clinical Oncology.
- Significant experience as a Consultant in Oncology.
- Expertise in delivering systemic anticancer therapies and advanced treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered care and continuous professional development.
