Description

We are seeking a dedicated Locum Respiratory Consultant to join our dynamic Respiratory Department and provide exceptional care to our patients.

Job Overview:

As a Locum Respiratory Consultant, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of respiratory conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage both acute and chronic respiratory conditions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist care to patients with respiratory diseases, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy, pulmonary function tests, and imaging reviews.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, junior doctors, and allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to the on-call rota and provide expert input into emergency cases.
  • Lead and participate in clinical audits, research, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and mentorship to junior medical staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in respiratory medicine and apply evidence-based practices in patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Respiratory Medicine or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different shifts, including on-call duties.
