Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our esteemed healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional medical care to patients in an acute setting, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients presenting with acute medical conditions.
  • Provide leadership and support to the acute medical team, including junior doctors and nursing staff.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and oversee their implementation.
  • Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintain detailed patient records.
  • Engage in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and mentorship to junior medical staff and medical students.
  • Work flexibly to cover shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree with full GMC registration and license to practice.
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in Acute Medicine.
  • Significant experience working at consultant level in Acute Medicine.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including covering shifts at short notice.
