Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Locum Band 4 Medicines Management Technician to join our pharmacy team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled pharmacy technician to contribute to the efficient and safe management of medicines within a dynamic healthcare setting.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services, ensuring the safe use, storage, and distribution of medicines while working closely with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the medicines management process, including ordering, receiving, and distributing medications within the organization.
- Assist in the assessment and review of patient medications to ensure safe and effective use.
- Provide advice and guidance to patients on the correct use of their medications.
- Perform stock management tasks, including stock checks, expiry date monitoring, and ordering of medicines.
- Assist pharmacists in delivering clinical services and supporting medication reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure effective medicines optimization.
- Promote good practice in medicines safety, storage, and handling across the organization.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Previous experience working as a Band 4 Medicines Management Technician or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of medicines legislation, procedures, and pharmacy practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Up-to-date mandatory training, including safeguarding and Basic Life Support (BLS).
