Description

As a Locum Band 5/6 Children's Speech & Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for children with a variety of communication needs. Your expertise will help improve the lives of children and their families by addressing speech, language, and communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for children with a range of communication difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to meet the specific needs of each child.
  • Provide direct therapy, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in speech and language therapy.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with children as a speech and language therapist, preferably at Band 5 or 6 level.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
