Description

As a Locum Band 6 Hand Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments and treatments for patients with hand and upper limb conditions. You will work in a supportive environment, utilizing advanced therapeutic techniques to aid in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with hand and upper limb conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve function and reduce pain.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise programs, splinting, and education.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Educate patients and their families on management strategies and preventive measures.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in hand therapy.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience working as a hand therapist, preferably at Band 6 level.
  • Proficiency in a range of therapeutic techniques for hand and upper limb rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
