Description

As a Locum Band 6 Orthopaedic Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients with orthopaedic conditions. Your expertise will contribute to the rehabilitation and improved quality of life for patients undergoing orthopaedic treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for patients with orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, and soft tissue injuries.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance patients' independence and facilitate recovery.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including splinting, exercise programs, and adaptive techniques.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques, self-management strategies, and post-operative care.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in orthopaedic occupational therapy.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience working as an occupational therapist, preferably with orthopaedic patients at Band 6 level.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
