As a Locum Band 7 Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietitian, you will provide expert dietary assessment and intervention for children with complex nutritional needs. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based nutritional care, supporting optimal growth, development, and overall health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and dietary management for paediatric patients with complex nutritional needs, including food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, feeding difficulties, and metabolic conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, monitoring and adjusting as necessary to meet patient needs and goals.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses, to deliver integrated patient care.
• Educate and support parents, carers, and other healthcare professionals on paediatric nutrition, feeding strategies, and dietary management of medical conditions.
• Participate in service development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance paediatric dietetic services.
• Provide clinical supervision, training, and support to junior dietitians, dietetic assistants, and students as required.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with professional and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc in Dietetics or equivalent and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Extensive experience as a Paediatric Dietitian, preferably at Band 7 level, with a strong background in managing complex cases.
• In-depth knowledge of paediatric nutrition, including clinical management of feeding difficulties, allergies, and other specialised dietary needs.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients, families, and colleagues.
• Proven experience in service development and contribution to clinical governance and quality improvement activities.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is desirable.
