Description
We are seeking an experienced Highly Specialised Respiratory Clinical Physiologist (Band 7)
Responsibilities:-
- Issue continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment to sleep apnoea patients, monitoring progress, managing their care, and reporting to the consultant and GP
- Detailed analysis and clinical decision-making for possible complex sleep disorders from diagnostic and CPAP usage data
- Perform cardiopulmonary exercise tests
- Conduct full lung function studies, analyzing complex results and producing accurate reports, including respiratory muscle function testing and skin prick allergy assessments
- Set up, download, analyze, and interpret limited channel sleep studies, producing accurate diagnostic reports
- Participate in the training of physiologists, medical, and nursing staff as per the departmental training program
- Prioritize own duties and workload
- Communicate complex information with patients, relatives, or carers, explaining procedures while considering any learning or physical disabilities, ensuring privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
- Ensure availability, cleanliness, and maintenance of equipment
- Maintain appropriate stock levels, ordering stock as necessary via stock control or purchase requisition
Role Requirements:-
- Appropriate clinical physiology master's level qualification or equivalent
- BSc in Clinical Physiology/Science
- ARTP Part I and Part II Assessments or equivalent experience
- Registered on the RCCP voluntary register
- Training/assessor qualification
