Description

As a Locum Sonographer, you will perform a wide range of ultrasound scans, including obstetric, abdominal, gynecological, and vascular, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical practice. You will work closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, including obstetric, abdominal, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans, as per clinical requirements.
  • Interpret scan results and provide a detailed and accurate report for referring clinicians.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination, maintaining a professional and compassionate approach.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ultrasound techniques and advancements in sonography.
  • Adhere to professional standards and protocols, including infection control and data protection policies.
  • Participate in quality assurance and service improvement initiatives within the ultrasound department.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Society of Radiographers (SOR).
  • Proven experience as a Sonographer, with expertise in performing a broad range of ultrasound examinations.
  • Excellent technical skills with a strong focus on patient care and safety.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your workload, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and reassure patients.
