Description

We are seeking an experienced Locum Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join our pathology team in Biochemistry, Haematology, Histology & Cytology, and Microbiology. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals looking for flexibility while contributing to essential diagnostic services in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform laboratory tests and analyses in Biochemistry, Haematology, Histology & Cytology, and Microbiology.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results to support clinical decision-making.
Adhere to UKAS and ISO 15189 standards in all laboratory procedures.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Participate in quality control, audits, and process improvements.
Work collaboratively with consultants, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
Minimum Band 6 level experience in one or more of the listed specialities.
Previous experience working in an NHS or UKAS-accredited laboratory.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques, equipment, and software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
