Description

Clinical practice: • Able to perform the endoscopy procedures for which they are accredited either sedated or non-sedated, utilising the most appropriate technique depending on patient assessment and preference, according to the list pre-booked by Endoscopy (IEL) at such locations and on such dates and times as are agreed either by roster or otherwise. • Delivery of community based gastroenterology clinics. • The post holder agrees to follow clinical protocols and policies developed by the Company and tailored for use within the facility that they are providing the service. These protocols will be communicated by the Medical Director (Endoscopy) and the Lead nurse. A copy of these will also be held in the unit. • All patient records must be completed in accordance with JAG and GRS requirements. The post holder will be required to enter data into a JAG compliant clinical system within the unit. The post holder will be trained to use this system and is required to enter the required fields accurately and fully so as to ensure a complete report and data set is available for each patient for whom they have provided a service. The report will provide sufficient information to enable the referring clinician to appropriately manage or refer the patient to another clinical service. • The post holder agrees to provide a follow up report on receipt of any histology results for patients that may have already been seen in the department. • The post holder will be expected to achieve the JAG minimum requirements of Endoscopists prior to service commencement and maintain this standard throughout the period of the Contract. • The post holder will undertake to advise the Medical Director (Endoscopy) of any matters which may affect their ability to practice and any matter which might bring into disrepute the professional or commercial standing of either the Lead Nurse Endoscopist, our Endoscopy or our Group. This would include, but not be limited to, the following: the commencement of disciplinary proceedings (whether clinically based or otherwise) at any other Hospital/Clinic or unit at which post holder practiced, any suspension of, or voluntary undertaking by the post holder to limit the scope of their clinical practice at any other Hospital/Clinic or unit, any serious untoward incident, never event, claim made against the post holder in relation to their practice or referral to their professional body. • Provide oversight for the triage team. • Provide Advice and Guidance for referrers from commissioning CCGs. Governance and audit: • Attendance and participation at Company and unit governance meetings • The post holder agrees to report any clinical incidents, complaints or complications which may occur whilst providing the services under this Contract using the agreed procedure and investigate where need be. • The post holder will be expected to participate in an agreed programme of audits as determined by the Company and fully cooperate with IHEL and/or IHG in the event of a patient or referrer identifying a reporting error or a clinical incident requiring further investigation. • Participation in any regulatory inspections (e.g. CQC, JAG)
