Description
Responsibilities:
To provide a high standard of Physiotherapy in the Musculoskeletal and Women’s Health
specialities on all sites. The proportion of Women’s Health working will be variable according to
demand, but is not expected to be more than 40% of the overall workload.
To be an active member of the weekend Orthopaedic service.
To perform more advance and detailed assessments with patients presenting with more diverse
and complex conditions, providing a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised
specialist treatment programme.
Provide a physiotherapy service in the management of bladder and bowel conditions,
gynaecological conditions and ante and postnatal care.
To hold own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without
direct supervision.
Supervision to take the form of regular training and peer review. Access to advice and support
available at all times from a senior physiotherapist.
Carry out all work as an autonomous practitioner maintaining records as such.
Supervision, education and assessment of the performance of Junior Physiotherapists,
Physiotherapy Assistants/Senior Physiotherapy Assistants, and Physiotherapy students to a
graduate level in the field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, liasing with universities as
required.
Undertake evidence based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical
practice. Make recommendations to team leader.
All Physiotherapists work as part of a 7 day cycle
