Description
We have an exciting opportunities for Operating Department Practitioners to join our healthcare.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to work within our busy theatres.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a patient focused quality approach to deliver a consistently high standard of patient care utilising evidence-based
- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care within scope of practice, taking into consideration the differing needs of sedation, anaesthesia, surgery and Prepare equipment and instruments according to the individual needs of the patient and surgeon.
- Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use, it is effectively sterilised and any faults are reported immediately to the theatre lead or
- Work flexibly across the specialties in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information to support colleagues to promote a cohesive team
- Participate in governance activities such as audit. Reporting and documenting clinical and non- clinical incidents to a senior staff member on the incident reporting system to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This includes any safeguarding issues
- Help to facilitate the smooth running of operating lists, liaising with the practitioner in charge to support the needs of patients and This may involve moving patients from the operating theatre to the recovery areas employing safe manual handling techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient observations and records on the electronic patient record and promptly highlighting any discrepancies to the wider surgical team.
- You will ensure the Five Steps to Safer Surgery and WHO Surgical Safety checklists are performed at all times.
- To adhere to our policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that all Health and Safety, COSHH and infection, prevention and control requirements are met
