This job is for a Speciality Doctor who provides care to inpatients at Hospital, at ST1 / ST2 level under the supervision of the Medical Director.

Responsibilities:-

• Clerking of new patient admissions, and planning their care whilst at hospital in conjunction with nursing staff, and other members of the IDT.
• Assessment of patients with acute problems, liaising with Consultant. When appropriate, referring to emergency services at patients acute centre or the Royal London Hospital. Upon transfer preparing an appropriate letter or report to accompany the patient.
• Ensuring discharge summaries for all patients are dispatched within 48 hours.
• Writing referral letters for patients attending outpatient sessions at other hospitals, whilst at our hospital.
• Liaising with medical staff at other centres e.g. acute centre, as appropriate, to clarify the ongoing management of our hospitals patients.
• Prescribing patients medications on ward charts. Checking patients medications, especially antiretroviral therapies, on admission, and corroborating any unconventional regimens with the Medical Director / their acute centres as appropriate.
