Your duties will involve: • - Provide leadership and support for care staff and act as a champion for resident’s safety and dignity • Creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the residents • Liaise with GPs and other health professionals to ensure that residents receive the medical and clinical support they require • Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for R.M.O / GP / Professional visits where necessary • To support empowerment of residents having regard for their dignity, rights and advice, whilst maintaining professional responsibility for residents in our care • Ensure that individual care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines • Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by the Nursing home Manager, MD or Clinical Lead • Ensure effective and clearly documented handover systems are maintained to facilitate the effective transfer of information between staff and shifts • Attend and participate in nurse and staff meetings as arranged by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) • Understand and ensure the implementation of the Nursing home’s Health and Safety Policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures • To assist in the maintenance of and promotion of effective communication with residents, relatives, staff, and other agencies, whilst developing good relationships, promoting education and awareness of the role of the service. • To demonstrate non-discriminatory practice in all aspects of work. • Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines / regulations.
