Description

• Evidence of achievement of CT2 competencies in the 12 months preceding date of submission. • Minimum of 2 years’ postgraduate training after full GMC registration (or equivalent) one of which must be within Emergency Medicine or a General Medicine specialty. • Part 1 – MCEM or MRCP • Current GMC full registration and licence to practise • Current ALS certificate • 6 months UK experience • These are new posts – to work on the new Emergency Assessment Unit rota and the posts are designed to support the expansion and development of our Same Day Emergency Care Services. Info about the post • Successful candidates will be responsible for looking after patients in the Emergency Assessment Unit or next day emergency care centre (on rotation). • EAU is open 0800 to 2200 7 days per week and post holders will participate in a full shift rota pattern attracting pay enhancements for weekends and out of hours work. • EAU work alongside the Emergency Department, taking many patients who can be seen and treated in the same day or the following day, without the need to provide a hospital admission. The pathways include: DVT, cellulitis, low risk chest pain and many more which post-holders will help to develop. • The Trust Grade Clinical Fellow posts will provide the opportunity to develop skills in leadership, management, strategy and project management. Working alongside our lead clinician, post holders will be involved with quality improvement projects, pathway development and clinical governance to improve standards of care and patient experience. • EAU operates at the heart of the hospital’s acute care and offers much more than pathway led medicine in leading the way in finding innovative solutions to keep patient care moving and out of hospital. This has been vital in maintaining non-COVID care throughout the pandemic. The team includes dedicated consultant, medical, nursing and therapy staff and is an exciting place where competencies and skills can be obtained under supervision quickly. • Our Emergency assessment unit combines the functions of same day emergency care unit, frailty assessment unit and Emergency department CDU and is located on an adjacent ward area. We are currently undergoing an exciting £47 million pound project to offer high quality modern facilities and designed to create the best environment to care for our patients.
