Description
To ensure the Home operates at all times with full regulatory compliance in respect of the CQC domains; safe, caring, effective, responsive and well lead, as well as other statutory legislation that may be in force.
To support the nursing staff to ensure all relevant clinical documentation is in place, reflects the current clinical and care needs of the Resident as is updated monthly, (or more often if the Residents condition changes) to ensure accurate records are maintained, in line with the Home’s policies and procedures and NMC guidance on record keeping.
To ensure that an effective clinical governance system is maintained in order to identify trends in incidents and to develop action plans for continual service improvement.
To work co-operatively with colleagues in the pursuit of the responsibilities of the post, with due regard to our diversity and inclusion framework and policies. To carry out the reasonable instructions of the senior management team to ensure optimal use of resources within the Home to ensure high quality care can be delivered at all times.
To attend rostered shifts as defined in the off-duty and to follow all HR policies and procedures in the event of being unable to attend for a rostered shift; understanding that such absence risks service levels and has the potential to compromise standards of care.

To support, mentor, manage and appraise the Clinical Matrons and
other senior nursing staff to enable them to effectively carry out their
roles and responsibilities.
To establish effective communication with Residents, their relatives and significant others to
create an open and transparent environment where they can voice any concerns openly and
positively.
To develop key relationships with external stakeholders to uphold the good reputation of
the Home
To attend meetings punctually, (including those out of hours) and participate in the on-call
rota and weekend working schedules.
