About the role Assisting the ward team, you will ensure that internal and external standards are maintained, in terms of patient care and other quality indicators. The role would suit an individual with a hands-on approach who is committed to providing excellence in customer service and patient care standards. You will be caring for our surgical patients upon admission and immediately post operatively. Key elements of this role include: Responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients and his/her relatives without direct supervision, and prioritising workload efficiently and effectively. Interpretation of data and clinical information appropriately, supporting and supervising junior nurses when required. Contributing to the development, evaluation and audit of specialist protocols and guidelines. Utilising all resources efficiently and effectively, and assisting with the maintenance of stock levels for consumables and drugs through reporting, ordering and receiving items according to policy.
